Performing Live With the Wireless Microphone

When you are performing live in front of the audience, you will face the excitement and the nervous energy. The energy depends on the performance and the likelihood which will push you to repeat the experience. It even determines your future career. Here are some tips for you who want to perform live.

For your information, having the butterfly's effect is an ordinary thing. It is even a good thing because you will find no live performance which has the energy needed to make the performance success if the people who will perform are not touched by the nervous feeling.

Before performing, you should do the rehearsal process. This process will help you to get the spirit feeling so you know what you are doing and perform even better. It is better for you to focus on certain people among the audience. Just pretend you are talking to them directly. By doing this, many people can get over the shock of being judged by the unfamiliar faces.

When you want to open the performance, you should open the performance easily. You also need to show the human side to the audience. It is also be good if you feed off the vibe of the crowd.

There is the type of the performance where the performers also dance while they are singing. If you have to do this performance, you should use the wireless microphone instead the wired one. By using the wireless version, you can find that you will be able to move around the stage freely. You do not need to worry if your movement is limited. If you empower the stage well, you can produce the dynamic and attractive performance for the audience.

After doing any performance, you should remember to thank to the audience. It is because the audience has supported you during the performance. You also need to send the gratitude to the people who are responsible to host the live performance.

If you need to find the wireless version of the microphone, the Azden wireless microphone can be the best option for you. You may also need to check the consumer reviews about the wireless handheld microphones to find another microphone which is suitable for you if the Azden does not meet your requirement.

Mainau: Germany's Garden Island

Mainau is Germany's garden island, hording seven kilometers worth of space from the Bodensee. Bursting with radiant color and exotic fragrance, this little oasis on the lake beckons anyone looking for quiet tranquility. Although only royalty live on this isle, all are welcome to visit for the day.

Easily reached from Meersburg, Germany or other ferry ports along the Bodensee (also called Lake Constance), Mainau is a relaxing thrill. Each visit offers beautifully manicured gardens that beg to be leisurely strolled through, the Palm House which protects the tropical trees from the elements while little chirping birds hide in the coarse leaves, every imaginable - and unimaginable - species of roses, and a view of the stately castle that overlooks the grounds. The castle itself cannot be toured but its adjoining chapel is accessible to the public. It's even possible to enjoy live musical performances among the serenely perfect surroundings.

Vicki Landes describes this getaway in her book, "Europe for the Senses - A Photographic Journal": "Get lost in the gardens to truly appreciate every single detail waiting patiently to be discovered. Explore the Butterfly House, a simulated paradise for hundreds of silent winged bugs in all stages of life. With its high temperatures, almost stifling humidity, waterfalls, brilliant flowers and exotic plants - step through a curtain of bamboo and you are immediately transported into a rainforest! Study the hanging cocoons where caterpillars await their rebirth or sneak up on a six-inch butterfly feasting on a dish of plump orange slices. Slip behind a waterfall for a cool break from the humidity or rest on a bench and wait for something to land nearby!"

See pictures of Mainau and more of Europe's hidden treasures in "Europe for the Senses - A Photographic Journal" by Vicki Landes. Available at Amazon.com and other major bookseller sites.

A Butterfly For Kids - How to Raise a Live Butterfly With Your Kids (Butterflies Are Easy and Fun!)

Kids love butterflies. Attracting a butterfly for kids to raise is a rewarding experience for all involved. The life stages of a butterfly include the butterfly egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult butterfly and by attracting butterflies to your yard you can watch each of these stages in your home. Witnessing the butterfly metamorphosis is fascinating for both kids and adults and it is a surprisingly easy, educational and especially fun activity.

Here are the simple steps you can take with your kids to attract butterflies:

1.) First you need a few nectar plants to attract the butterflies to your yard. I recommend 2-3 Lantana Camara plants, and 3 or more Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) plants to start with. These plants will be attractive to several species of butterflies including Monarch butterflies and Black Swallowtails (Anise Swallowtails on the West Coast) both of which are common and easy butterflies for kids.

2.) Second you will need a host plant on which your butterflies will lay their eggs. Three or more Parsley plants work great for Black/Anise Swallowtails and your Milkweed plants are the host plants for the Monarch butterfly as well as serving as a nectar plant for many butterflies.

3.) Help your kids plant the lantana, milkweed and parsley with each plant type grouped together either in the ground or in several large containers. Butterflies are attracted to group plantings of the same plant.

4.) When you find butterfly eggs or caterpillars on your plants (usually mid-late summer) you can bring them indoors on cuttings of the plant. Continue to provide cuttings of the host plants to your caterpillars until they turn into a chrysalis (usually 2-3 weeks).

5.) Within 1-2 weeks your kids will have a beautiful butterfly emerge from the chrysalis. After it hangs for a few hours to strengthen and dry its wings it will be ready for release so it can begin the amazing butterfly life cycle once again.

I have to warn you - you and your kids may be pleasantly hooked on butterflies after this experience!

My children and I raise butterflies indoors every summer and we have a website devoted to sharing how you can experience the amazing butterfly metamorphosis in your own home. Please visit us at joyfulbutterfly.com to discover the joy of a butterfly for kids!

Short Hair Updos

Just because updos are typically fashioned on longer hair doesn't mean there aren't plenty of options available for shorter hair. Short hair, can actually be interpreted in a number of different ways. Depending on the point of view, short hair length can range from the bottom of the jaw all the way up to the top portion of the ear.

The first thing to figure out is if your hair can be put up into a ponytail. If this is the case, then the options are infinite. Using curls is a great way to add substance and volume to a shorter hairstyle. After you wet or wash your hair, run your fingers through it a few times. I don't recommend using a brush as this can damage delicate hair.

Once the hair is dry, take rollers to it. I recommend using smaller rollers on top and some larger ones in the back. Apply the rollers when hot and leave in hair until they cool. Pull the curls in the back up into an updo and then arrange the strands in front as desired. A popular look for 2010 is styling whimsical soft curls parted to the side.

Braided updos for short hair are also very popular hairstyles for 2010. Start with a side part pulling deep. On the larger section twist the hair into a short French or Fishtail Braid about an inch or so from the part. The length of the braid of course will depend on your individual hair length. When you reach the end of the strands, take a hair pin and tuck under your hair.

On the other side, the second braid will start above your ear and end in about the same location tucked a bit behind the ear. With shorter hair, accessories can be your best friend! Add a live flower or butterfly pendant to complete the elegant yet sophisticated look.

Thinking About Butterfly Wedding Themes

One of the most colorful and versatile choices for a wedding theme is the use of butterflies. Butterfly wedding themes are a unique selection with a variety of ways to apply such an incredible component of nature throughout your wedding celebration and reception. You can start your butterfly theme with imprints on your invitations and carry it through from your bouquet to your thank you notes. With careful planning, your theme will be as elegant or fantasy driven as you choose.

Accents and Decorating with Butterflies

Butterflies can be used in a very traditional sense or in an over the top way. Butterflies are typically fairly easy to find in craft and fabric stores but it is important to maintain a level of consistency with your decoration. Are they traditional butterflies in colors and designs you would find in nature? Or are they whimsical ones in colors that will make great accents to your wedding? Regardless of your selection, the key to your theme is to use it in unexpected ways your guests will remember.

You can consider using butterflies in bouquets and flower arrangements, much like you may see them in nature. Florists are likely to have some sort of decorative butterfly accent however, you can achieve a more customized accent piece by creating your own with craft supplies. These butterfly stems can even be given away after your reception to special guests or kept as your own keepsakes.

Using butterflies imprinted on engagement announcements, save the date cards, invitations, programs and thank you notes will set the tone for your butterfly theme for guests. Taking your theme a step farther and selecting butterfly shaped floating candles for centerpieces, colorful butterfly shaped chocolates or candies for table favors and even butterflies created out of sugar made to look as if they are flying from your wedding cake would be great options.

Creative uses for Butterflies

By using the internet or visiting a local pet store you can have a live release of butterflies at your wedding service or at your reception. An outdoor event would facilitate this best, but certainly it is a great option if you have the resources to support a successful butterfly launch. The local weather, actual site location and time of year will certainly impact the ability to have a butterfly release so be sure to consult with a professional if you have your heart set on having this feature at your wedding.

Another special way to incorporate butterflies is by using them as hair accents for bridesmaids as well as the bride and flower girl. Many hair accents in butterfly shapes are available at retail providers or hair salons. Customized pieces can also be an option, crafted by local bead artists or even created with supplies from craft retailers.

When choosing to use a butterfly wedding theme, it is important to remain consistent with the type of butterflies you are using. If you would like your butterfly theme to be memorable, use your theme where guests will least expect it.

My name is Karen and I have been helping brides plan their weddings for many years, why not visit my website for more help with your unique wedding theme along with more ideas for the wedding day.

Orange County's Mary Lou Heard Memorial Garden Tour

Tour 39 of Orange County's most incredible gardens in full bloom

Each of these gardeners has generously consented to share their passion for gardening with us and I urge you to attend as many of the gardens on the tour as you can.

A bit of history about the Mary Lou Heard: In 1985, Mary Lou Heard opened Heard's Country Garden Nursery, a magical nursery tucked away on a seldom traveled road in Westminster, California. The gardens were full of unique and often old fashioned annuals and perennials such as "Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate", "Bleeding Heart" and "Four O'Clocks". These, along with whimsical garden art, English and old garden roses, scented geraniums, herbs, vines and small trees made the nursery a delightful and special place to visit. In the center of the pebble-dusted paths was a small quaint old wooden "cottage" filled with gifts, books, potpourris and small bags of the finest organic fertilizers available. In the far back of the garden was another old wooden building, it too, filled with antiques, gifts and more home decor....it was for me, a gardeners' shabby chic shopping heaven.

In 1993 Mary Lou came up with the notion of a garden tour, "real gardens by real people". This is a self-guided tour, where you drive from home to home at your leisure to view the gardens listed on the tour. The Heard's Garden Tour was an instant success, bringing in over 800 garden lovers the first year and in later years, drawing in thousands of visitors. In 2000 Mary Lou Heard was diagnosed with cancer and two years later she would close her beloved nursery, and in her final Heard's Country Garden Newsletter she wrote. "Though there are still many more gardens in my heat that have to be planted - the body is calling for a rest. Saying good-bye is the hardest thing I have had to do."

The annual garden tour continues today, thanks to the Mary Lou Heard Foundation.

For those of us who had the pleasure of knowing Mary Lou Heard, this memorial garden tour holds a special place in our hearts. And for me, it's especially significant, because it was at Heards Country Gardens Nursery, where I found my passion, butterfly gardening! Immediately upon attending a butterfly gardening class at the nursery, I was forever obsessed with butterflies. I was so fascinated with every detail of the butterfly class, taking notes and asking questions, that I could hardly wait to get home and start "gardening for the benefit of butterflies" myself. I especially remembered waiting in line to purchase a chrysalis from the teacher, Cathy, the "Butterfly Lady", but to my disappointment, by the time I made my way to the front of the line, Cathy was out of butterfly chrysalises. She did however have a couple of caterpillars, and upon assuring her I was growing pesticide free fennel in my garden, she sold me one of her Anise Swallowtail caterpillars. I ever so carefully took it home, fed it, fretted over it, until finally that memorable day came when my Anise Swallowtail Butterfly emerged from it's chrysalis, I knew I was hooked.

Butterfly Garden - Wood's Wildlife Wonder

This story brings me to tell you about one of the gardens on the Mary Lou Heard Memorial Garden Tour, it's at the home of Helen and Ken Wood. The "Wood's Wildlife Wonder" is filled with plants and trees selected to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Helen is a master gardener, her garden is certified as a North American Butterfly Association certified butterfly garden, Monarch Way-station and Native Habitat. Last summer I had the pleasure of attending a "butterfly tea" at her home and was amazed at the number of butterflies visiting her garden. If you live in the Orange County area, I urge you to take the Heard's Garden Tour, and don't miss stopping by the Woods Garden, I'm sure Helen would be happy to talk to your about butterfly gardening. Be sure to bring your camera!

Mary Lou introduced me to the world of butterfly gardening, I hope to inspire others to take the tour and begin gardening for the benefit of butterflies.

Butterfly Gardens

There is nothing quite as beautiful as butterflies floating on their colorful wings through out the garden. Butterflies are beneficial to the pollination of many plants. The use of pesticides hurts the butterfly population in many areas. The reason for this is part of the life cycle on the butterfly is a caterpillar. During the caterpillar stage it eats the leaves of plants and they can eat quite a lot. The use of pesticides should be carefully controlled if one wishes to attract and have lots of butterflies in the garden.

Butterflies start out as an egg the female butterfly lays on a host plant. Host plants are plants that are to feed the caterpillar that hatches from the egg. Butterflies can be very particular when it comes to host plants. We will talk about host plants in more detail later. When the caterpillar is fully grown it spins a chrysalis about its body. This is the pupa stage when the butterfly completes the metamorphosis into the adult butterfly.

Adult butterflies may live only a week or nearly a year depending on the species. Some species can survive winters by remaining dormant in their pupa or egg stages. The metamorphosis of a butterfly from egg to adult normally takes a few weeks in the heat of summer.

The butterfly garden needs to have a wide variety of plants, some tall and some short. Different types of butterflies prefer different plants. Some like to feed low to the ground while others may feed in higher shrubs or even trees. To live and reproduce, butterflies need two types of plants, nectar plants and host plants.

Nectar plants provide sweet nectar which the adult butterflies feed on. There are many flowers that are very good for a butterfly garden, but the best three types, nationwide, are Mexican Sunflowers, Butterfly Bush and Verbena Bonariensis.

Butterflies need another type of plant called a host plant. This is the plant they will lay their eggs on. Four to ten days after the eggs are laid they hatch into caterpillars. Yes, that's right if you want butterflies you have to have caterpillars. Butterflies can be very particular about host plants. One type of butterfly may use a number of different host plants while another may only use only one type host plant.

Below is a list of some types of butterflies and their preferred host plants:

Black Swallowtail- Bronze fennel, parsley, fennel, carrots, Queen Ann's Lace, dill, lovage, celery and anise.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail- ash trees, tuli tree, black cherry tree, sweetbay magnolia and chokecherry tree.

Spicebush Swallowtail- sassafras tree, camphor tree and spicebush

Giant Swallowtail- citrus and rue

Zebra Swallowtail- paw paw

Gulf Fritillary- all passion vines.

Monarch- milkweed

Painted Lady- wormwood

Viceroy- willows

Whites- broccoli, cabbage, and mustard

I think that cute small tattoo designs on the wrist, ankle or foot are the hottest thing for a woman to get inked! I can not tell you how many times I have gotten scorned for looking at some woman's ankle design and accused of checking out her legs. I was only trying admire the artwork on an ankle or foot. I try to talk my female friends to get one in these locations when they ask for my help. Most of them agreed and are proud of their choice of their new cute feminine tattoo

Girly tattoo designs choices for these locations include butterfly, star, heart, flower or perhaps a cute and sexy bracelet design. A Japanese inspired design would also be a great choice for an exotic mysterious look. Tribal or a wrap around design would also be awesome. The wrap will force people to change their view to get a look at the other side and perhaps get into trouble. A tip for guys would be to just ask to check it out. Be safe and not creepy. Anyone getting inked on the ankle, foot, or wrist should be ready for a bit of pain especially females and girls. This is one of those areas that have little natural fat or padding. 10 Lou Reed berlin live The Bed

Lou Reed Berlin Live at St. Anns Warehouse Berlin: Live At St. Ann's Warehouse is the audio release of Reed's 2006 performances of his classic Berlin album from 1973. Its release coincides with the Weinstein Company's DVD release of the Julian Schnabel film made from these performances, Lou Reed's Berlin. Upon the 1973 release of Berlin, Lou Reed's controversial successor to the wildly popular Transformer, Rolling Stone's Stephen Davis described it as one of "certain records so patently offensive that one wishes to take some kind of physical vengeance on the artists that perpetrate them...a distorted and degenerate demimonde of paranoia, schizophrenia, degradation, pill-induced violence and suicide." A earnest pan, yes, but also a fabulous pull quote. Thirty years later, the magazine named it one of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Staging Berlin had been discussed for over 30 years, and in December of 2006 it became a reality, over four days at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn. It was the first time Reed performed the album live. The New York Times said that Reed "wasn't revisiting these songs as oldies or artifacts; he was reinhabiting them...Berlin carried Reed's music to an ornate extreme, but now its trappings are secondary. What comes through is the way it feels." The film Berlin, by acclaimed painter-turned-director Julian Schnabel (Basquiat, Before Night Falls, The Diving Bell & The Butterfly), documents these historic performances. Though the album's harrowing ...

California Butterfly Dreamin'

Ever dreamed of the land where palm trees sway? Well, if you're a butterfly enthusiast, there is much more than surf and sand to keep your imagination busy where Southern California is concerned and as for the butterfly gardener, Southern California is a dream come true. Tiny Blues mimicking the sky visit coastal sage scrub and chaparral as a Cloudless Sulphur flutters by like a bit of harnessed sunshine. Gulf Fritillaries romance a passion vine while California Sisters dance among the shaded oaks. A weary monarch hangs with his fellow travelers, warmed and sheltered by the surrounding eucalyptus groves.

With elevations ranging from below sea level in the low deserts to 11,500 feet at the mountain peaks, Southern California is a beautiful and diverse place. Year round it plays host to a colorful array of butterfly species. The myriad of habitats offered attracts both resident and migrant butterflies who, depending on their needs, enjoy the coastal plains, deserts, mountains and even backyard gardens that traverse the land. As in most places, when butterfly gardening in Southern California, specific plants should be chosen in order to attract the butterflies that frequent ones local native plant communities. There are a variety of nice drought tolerant species indigenous to Southern California.

Many of these lovely plants act as both a host and nectar source for visiting butterflies. They are favorites of the Southern California butterfly gardener and nectar/host seeker alike. California Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum) is one such species. Its dainty flower heads seem to last forever, changing from a soft pink hue in spring to a crimson brown in fall. While in bloom it is magnet for nectar lovers of all types. The many native butterflies, including a variety of Coppers and Blues, who use this popular plant as their host, most definitely learn to share and share alike!

Evergreen, fragrant, and colorful, California Lilac (Ceanothus) is also adored by the local frequent flyers. In early spring this hardy shrub displays sweet blooms of blue attracting many. Among them are the Pale Swallowtail, the Spring Azure, and the Brown Elfin, all of whom call this plant their host.

A member of the Sunflower Family, Pearly Everlasting (Gnaphalium californicum), blankets the rolling hills, blooming from January until July. It is the preferred host plant of the American Painted Lady. Within its wooly hairs and tiny white "pearly" heads her offspring cozily make their home.

Use it's host, False Indigo Bush (Amorpha fruticosa), to lure California's official state butterfly, the California Dogface, into your garden. The male of this species is quite distinctive with his poodle-faced forewings, but good luck trying to catch a glimpse of his unique markings as he rarely lands with his wings open.

One knows springtime has arrived in Southern California when the sunny yellow flowers of Deerweed (Lotus scoparius) begin to brighten the hillsides. Plant this tenacious bloomer and before long you can expect to have the company of such host seekers as the Bramble Hairstreak, the Silvery Blue, and the Funereal Duskywing.

Female Monarchs and Queens are drawn to the plush white-rose colored star clusters characteristic of one of Southern California's natives, Indian Milkweed (Asclepias eriocarpa). As a result of this attraction, its broad velvety leaves are often adorned in the black, yellow, and white stripes of hungry resident caterpillars.

Looking to entice some other ladies into your garden, use Bush Mallow (Malacothamnus fasciculatus) and Bush Lupine (Lupinus longiflorus). Both flaunt attractive flowers and are host plants for several butterflies, including the West Coast Lady and Melissa Blue, respectively.

Common Rue (Ruta graveolensis) also a good addition to any Southern California butterfly garden. Female Giant Swallowtails will gladly use it as a host plant, which makes local citrus growers happy too.

Sticky Monkeyflower (Mimulus aurantiacus ), host for the Buckeye, Bush Sunflower (Encelia californica), host for the Checkerspot, and Desert Senna (Senna Armata), host for the Cloudless Sulphur, are three more fine flora worthy of mention. To catch the eye of all interested passer-byers, include these flowering favorites in your garden.

If ample room is available, consider the Arroyo Willow (Salix lasiolepis), host for the Lorquin's Admiral, the Mourning Cloak, and the Western Tiger Swallowtail.

The Coast Live Oak (Quercas agrifolia), which hosts the California Sister and the Mournful Duskywing, is also a noble addition to any garden setting. These striking native trees not only serve as host plants for several local butterflies, but also provide them and others with a sanctuary from elements, whether they be a summers blistering heat or a storms windy chill.

California dreaming on such a winter's day...The wonderful diversity of both the butterfly population and native plant species hosted by the Southern California terrain is indeed a dream come true for the local butterfly gardener.

So, next time your mind starts wandering, picture yourself lying on the beach somewhere in Southern California. The soft sun-warmed sand is beneath you, comforting rays reach down from above easing your mind as the soothing rhythm of the surf lulls you to sleep.

Now you are dreaming! California "Butterfly" Dreamin' to be precise. Don't be surprised if when you open your eyes to the sky above, it is filled with not just California's sunny skies, but scores of its beautiful butterflies fluttering about.

Why Birds Lay Eggs Instead Of Giving Live Births

Humans, as do most mammals, give birth to live young. Many other species such as reptiles and some fish also give live birth. Birds, however, always give birth through the process of laying eggs.

Animals that give birth to live young are called viviparous animals. Viviparous translates to reproduction inside the body of the mother. Animals that give birth by means of laying eggs are called oviparous. Loosely this translates to animals whose embryos develop outside of the body and within eggs. Animals that fall into this group are most fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and of course, birds.

The reason that birds give birth through the laying of eggs is rooted in how they developed as a species. Birds are one of the few non-insect animals that have the ability to fly. But they didn't start out like that. Birds developed from the dinosaur which, as far as we know, were earthbound. The early birds that developed from dinosaurs did not have the ability of flight. As the species of birds evolved, however, they gained certain abilities and lost others. In order for birds to fly they had to lose density and weight. Otherwise, there is no way that they could be light enough to be supported by the winds. One of the prime reasons that birds can fly is that they are so lightweight, much lighter than a mammal of the same size.

As is apparent in every viviparous mammal, as the fetus grows inside the mother, the mother becomes heavier and heavier. If birds were viviparous, it would not be too long before the combined weight of the mother and fetus resulted in the mother being too heavy to fly. This would prevent her from being able to escape predators, to hunt for many foods, and so on. If, however, the fetus can be allowed to grow outside the body, in an egg, the problem is resolved.

This is why, as soon as she can, the female bird will get rid of the egg inside her by laying it in a nest where it will be allowed to incubate and hatch. This method of bearing young, however, comes with its own set of risks. Since the fetus is outside of the body, the female and male pair must work together to protect the egg. This means that someone must always stay close by to prevent predators from taking advantage of a missing parent by raiding the nest and stealing eggs.

Where Do Polar Bears Live?

Although polar bears are the world's largest predators found on land, they live in a relatively small region on the globe. Polar bears can only be found in the areas surrounding the Arctic Ocean. There have been a few sighting of these magnificent animals above the latitudinal meridian of 88°, which makes biologists believe they range all the way across the Arctic Circle and live as far south as James Bay in Canada.

To survive, polar bears must hunt on sea ice and therefore spend most of their lives traveling the frozen seas in search of food. Because of their seemingly endless quest for food, there have reports of polar bear sightings as far south as the Berlevag village on the Norwegian mainland and even the Kuril Islands in the Sea of Okhotsk.

Unfortunately, since the entire range of the polar bear's habitat hasn't been thoroughly studied, biologists do not have an accurate number of this mammal. The best estimates range between 50,000 and 100,000 bears worldwide. However, there has been enough research conducted to declare the polar bear a "vulnerable" species. Biologists have identified 19 specific classifications of the polar bear and of these 5 are declining in population, 5 are stable, 2 are increasing and the remaining 7 do not have enough data to make a firm determination of their survival rate.

Several factors are currently threatening the overall survival of polar bears. For many years, unrestricted hunting had been the main issue, but with current quotas in place, this is no longer the number one threat to these animals.

Global warming is the danger that many scientists feel can severely affect the polar bears and some feel this environmental issue could even make this species extinct within 100 years. The increase in worldwide temperatures is causing the sea ice to melt. Since polar bears hunt on the ice, their habitat is steadily growing smaller. There is more competition between the bears for food, and eventually many of them could starve. This situation is so serious that the U.S. Department of the Interior listed the polar bear as a threatened species on May 14, 2008.

Understanding how polar bears live will help everyone to better preserve and protect their habitat. These animals are huge, with adult males weighing between 660 to 1320 pounds. This means they need a large amount of food every day to survive. Their bodies are uniquely adapted to the fiercely cold temperatures of the Arctic region and they can easily move across snow, ice and open water. Their diet is largely made up of seals, which they hunt for in the sea ice.

Polar bears follow the migration of the seals that travel in response to climate changes. In some areas, like the Hudson Bay and James Bay, the ice melts completely each summer and that forces the polar bears to return to land to wait until the next freeze. Although this is only a temporary condition, if global warming impacts the planet, there will be no re-freezing of the sea ice and that will leave polar bears both hungry and homeless.

Yet, there is a positive side to the polar bears' story. Many scientists and biologists are studying the climate changes and are offering plans of action. The problems the polar bears may face with increasingly warmer temperatures can hopefully be solved through a determination to keep the habitat of these animals safe.

Don't Live in Fear - Being Free From Stalkers and All That Unwanted Attention

It's usually a very flattering thing to have a secret admirer. Those moments when you find chocolates or pretty jewelry on your desk and you start receiving inspirational messages on your cellular phone brings a lot of butterflies and sweet thoughts to your mind. Sometimes the suspense is overwhelming and you find yourself thinking out love just who Prince Charming really is.

But sometimes, reality just gets the better of you. The person who may have been sending you all those nice things may not exactly be a person you'd really consider dating. Or you may already have a boyfriend or life partner and really can't go out with this new guy no matter how much you want them. And maybe you're really finding all the attention to be really freaky. Some admirers just get too close for comfort and start doing really scary things like stalking or things that border on sexual harassment. When that time comes, you know its time to put your foot down and do something about it.

Some harassers can be so mysterious that you could months into the guessing game and he or she may not have revealed his or her identity. And when that happens it would be best to ignore all of the attention. No harm in ignoring someone you don't know, right? But if the person has made himself or herself known, it's a totally different situation. Of course the best course of action would be to deny that person in a nice way. Brushing someone off like that can hurt but of course that person put a lot of effort into trying to make you feel happy. So turning him or her down nicely is the best policy, because it makes you both look good.

But sometimes an admirer is so persistent and so obsessed that he or she develops the mentality that if he or she can't have you, nobody can. And when he starts filling his notes with personal information, and starts blackmailing you, it's probably time to inform the authorities about this person. You don't deserve that kind of treatment... From anyone.

There are a lot of ways to deter all those unwanted admirers in your life. For more tips, go to: http://www.howtogetridofstuff.com/people/how-to-get-rid-of-an-unwanted-admirer/

How Long Can a Bald Eagle Live

The bald eagle being the national emblem of the United States becomes the living symbol of its freedom, spirit and continued pursuit of excellence. It proudly shows the brilliance, superiority and power that the United States holds around the world. Its symbolism has already been a part of American art, folklore, music and architecture thus making it known to all citizens, young and old. Realizing its significance, we should not just identify it by its image and physical appearance. We should also know its characteristics, its capabilities, its needs and even the small details like its life span or how long can a bald eagle live?

The features of the bald eagle varies depending on its age or stage, on its third and fourth years, it will appear with mottled brown and white feathers, and on its fifth year it will gain its distinctive white head and tail feathers until it grows old and turns its beak and eyes to yellow. When it reaches its average age, it can weigh seven to fifteen pounds and reach 29 to 42 inches long with a wing span of about 6 to 8 feet. Generally, the bald eagle could live up to forty years if it stays in the wild and longer if it is being captive and take cared of. How long can a bald eagle live depends on us. If we provide it with abundant food supply and if we protect our environment, definitely it will live its life expectancy to the fullest.

Based on some research, during 1700s the population of the bald eagle ranges to 300,000 to 500,000 but look at them now, they have become almost extinct and endangered due to pollution and other human acts. Their habitat is being contaminated by various toxic waste chemicals, their food sources are being sprayed with pesticides and worse, they are being hunted and killed for sport. Being the national emblem of the United States, we should uphold its protection and persevere in preserving our environment to allow their regeneration to restore their population size. Lets ask ourselves everyday, "how long can a bald eagle live?" and help it to achieve it.

The government has become alarmed and concerned about the condition and scarce population of this majestic and symbolic bird that's why they are improving public awareness, strict enforcement of laws, environment preservation and conservation. Actually, they created a primary law entitled "Endangered Species Act to the Bald and Golden Eagle Act" to regulate the hunting and shooting of Bald and Golden eagles. It is in these methods that the government paves the way to awareness on how the continued existence of the bald eagle is essential for the nation to have a full grasp of its history. They want to assure that the bald eagle gets what it deserves so that it could continuously symbolizes the spirit and excellence of the United States for generations to come. So how long can a bald eagle live? Ask them.
