this ladybug thing was a great buy but..... when you have to feed the ladybugs you have to open the whole lid and sometimes they get out or if you arent careful you can squish them in the cracks where the lid goes in. i wish there was just a tiny opening to be able to feed them and drop the food down in. we had 15 ladybugs arrive and only 4 were actually let go on purpose so i had a bunch of dissapointed children in my daycare.
My kids love this! It only took less than a week after ordering our ladybugs for them to arrive!
The microscope on the top is not that great, actually its not great at all.
We have had this for a few weeks now and the ladybugs are now in the pupa stage. It has kept their excitement and interest. They check on them everyday and are excited to see the ladybugs emerge! We have been doing lots of research on the different stages.
the only problem we had was that the top is not very secure to the bottom and I ended up taping it on. Some of the food escaped from the bottom and is now stuck on the tape on the outside..but there was plenty in there to last them.
